Grant Florian graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in December 2008 but has been unable to find a job in the area despite fluency in Spanish and graduating with highest honors. He has spent the last several months applying for interpreting work and with food service firms but has not seen anything materialize. In March, Florian temporarily moved in with his girlfriend, who was also unemployed at the time, to save money.
